I maintain precise surveillance of the sky
and detailed notes. No, not astronomy.
Not distant sky, at night. Near sky, by day:
the different values of its blue and gray,
as various degrees of depth and density,
and spans of the horizon, pale unsteadily.
It’s all significant although it’s hazy why
the dome betrays its structural integrity
in the minutiae the unwary let float by.
