  Hi from Virginia
« on: June 30, 2008, 04:01:47 PM » by Jill Winkowski
Hi. I'm Jill from Virginia. And I really am from Virginia. I am at this site because I really like the poetry on it and even after less than 24 hours I have learned by experience that the community is great, too. I have been a writing instructor, a freelance writer, an ESL instructor etc, etc. My favorite writers at the moment are Thomas Hardy, William Faulkner, Virginia Woolf, Thomas Wolfe, Ralph Ellison, Willa Cather, my two contemporary faves are Michael Parker and Janet Peery. My favorite poets at the moment are Joseph Brodsky, Dave Smith, --and my permanent list, Dickinson, Walt, Eliot. I guess I could go on but you get the point. HI!

Hello, to you in Virginia!  Quiet and impressive list of favorites.  I'm in North Carolina and there are a few others her from the east coast.  I look forward to reading your work.

Hi ya'll from Georgia. You've got some greats listed there. My favorite contemporary novelist is John Irving.

You are as welcome as a cool breeze in July. :)

Hi Sherry Lavonne and Jay.
Yes thanks for the welcome and I will definitely tell my best writer friends in the area about this site! I may disappear for awhile once school starts but I will be back!

Thanks, Michelle. It has been a great experience so far. I will be away for a couple of weeks (ohne internet!) but will be back. Take care everyone.
