  Bright Red Flag
« on: January 18, 2012, 07:58:23 PM » by Tom Riordan
Single cells
reproduce by budding—
offspring cells
that break off
and live independently.

The first step
of evolving into
multicellular organisms
is offspring
that don't separate.

Consider this
a bright red flag
for doting parents
who permit the children
to return home
after university
because temporary
economic conditions
make independent
living difficult.

This sticks a knife in my craw. Not because it is to difficult to accept but because it is all too true.  You have a way of defining an issue Tom.

Lavonne, thank you, I'm glad it meant something to you (not necessarily a knife in the craw, though).
Some of my best friends are multicellular. LOL. Tom

Tom,

Very nicely done - somehow, an image of a basking shark - mouth open - springs to mind.  Personally,  one of my greatest hopes is to host one, just to watch it swim past my armchair now and then - quite a bargain for the price of a little krill!

Tom,

LOL!

No, I think we must be at cross purposes (or should that be cross porpoises?) - all I meant is that I hope my son does come back home after university!

(I meant to say 'bargain for a little krill', BTW)

Regards,

Roger

Oh, then it's me who's evilminded. I thought the shark was there to vacuum off the krilldren!

How this grew scales is creepy, Tom. Very sharp and provoking. Excellent.

Oooo biology, I like biology... it is the title of my favorite Girls Aloud song. Haha!
Sociology is my passion though - a nice blend here
Enjoyed this Tom.
