Carved Book Sculptures

Artist Guy Laramee carves and illustrates incredible sculptures out of books in his duo series The Great Wall and Biblios.

The artist transforms the edges of vintage books, dictionaries and encyclopedias into mountainous glacial landscapes, plateaus, and deep valleys along with detailed painted illustrations.

Laramee's sculpted books represent the degradation of human culture. He explains that the pieces portray his belief that knowledge is gained by erosion, not accumulation.
