Keep the ball rolling - reminder on Replying
« on: July 27, 2011, 10:01:58 AM » by Tom Riordan
As an editor here, one of my jobs is to foster the exchange of feedback that is the core of Poetry Circle. It is certainly not my role to encourage people to post their own work for feedback but ignore the work of fellow members. So I concentrate on reading and replying to the work of members who do the same for others on the site.

The only real rule for posting at PC is the requirement of politeness, the rule against personal attacks. So we are all entirely free to choose what we read or reply to. But if you wish to hold up your end of the underlying social contract, and keep the ball rolling, a simple rule of thumb is to thoughtfully reply to three or more posts by other writers per each new post you make yourself. You probably like getting at least three replies to your work, and the only way that happens, for everyone, is if everyone participates.

We should have a sheriff, with a badge for an avatar or a photo of Bat Masterson.

"There are those who argue that everything breaks even in this old dump of a world of ours -- because the rich man gets ice in the summer and the poor man gets it in the winter, things are breaking even for both. Maybe so, but I'll swear I can't see it that way."

I think we should vote to give Dax the right to carry a concealed loaded writing tool !

Allotments For All & All For Allotments

The main complaint is the complaint. And most already know by now, without order you get chaos — it's August, it's hot, and it's down right horny. The Shed folk have a job to perform and boy, what a job sucker that is - right? And nothing sucks more than a complaint that snores, and snores, and snores.

My name is Lawful Evil and Redcloak is my sidekick, on account of a nasty rash that runs and runs and if not lathered in Thick & Fifty has the same sorry outcome on justice and the fight for the American way — and no one, man or nation, wants to end up down the hood buying poppybags of regret from an Apache up to his genitals in spring water and a holyman called Butt Nut.

— an if this tiny corpus is a little too athletic for the bears anywhere north of Dakota, rest assured, the rest of us have shedloads of trash in our cross hairs on it's way as we speak!

Keep your loathing coming and write soon. The world is a hungry fearful place. We need bags and bags of peace — no matter how insane this sounds. How can you stand by and allow this evil to happen — let's save the hood. Just say: Sow!
