  Puzzler's Protest
« on: August 24, 2006, 11:27:42 AM » by Rita Janice Traub
Sudoku, sudoku ("accent first syllable"),
What have you done to the magazine rack?
Taken it over, ubiquitous paper weed.
None can withstand your invasive attack.
Where are the crosswords, the logics and cryptograms?
Muscled them out, you did -- that isn't fair!
Some say you're U.S.-bred, others say Japanese.
Origin's not the point -- you're everywhere!
Boring and tedious each of your puzzles is:
Find numbers one through nine, make sure they fit.
What's the reward for this perfect arrangement?
Eyestrain, anxiety, headache -- that's it!
You have been hailed as a healthful addiction.
Am I then all alone fighting your coup?
Why meek acceptance?  Why no opposition?
I've had it up to here -- ciao, sudoku!
