Yup, too often on critique sites people do not have the tough skin to receive critiques and so they get offended if there work is not quite up to PC's standards and get negative critiques or ignored all together. The other side is new writer who takes ALL crits to heart and have not learned to pick and chose which crits are the right ones for their poem and trust everyone must be right because they do not have enough experience to make that distinction on their own quite yet. In either case, this site has some of the best poets on it that I read. I always enjoy it here both hearing the feedback on my work and reading the work of others posted. This site (and no site for that matter) will work for everyone, some people will be turned away while others embrace it. Just the way it goes -

'professional's' view of the site. i
only question if you feel it's
accurate and has merit. how has
your experience with the site
lined up with the opinoins of the
professionals.

Doris, you are not making much sense to me at the moment. Generic statements like "people in the publishing business" sounds laughable to me and makes it hard for me to take you seriously. In your one thread you talked about having problems with facebook where your account at facebook was hacked what does this have anything to do with PC? - I hope you understand that facebook and PC are two different sites ? Again, you are not making much sense to me. In either case, if you have concerns with being here, why return? I don't think it offends anyone if you do not want to come back to the site, many people come give it a try and if it isn't a good fit, they move on. If the site clicks, they stay. Not sure why you don't just do the same?

I haven't been commenting because I can't be bothered, to be quite honest. The same professionals who recommended this place once upon a time - and unfortunately they aren't Danish - are telling me to steer clear. It's turned into a place 'for pimping poet stalkers and sagacious prostitutes', not my words. How do you as editors feel about getting reviews like that from people in the publishing business?

as you know i am not an editor here.

& i truly appreciate your raising these topics
for all inclusive discussion is good for the collective universal consciousness.

it is a blessing to be able to give voice
without being censored

i have been in the art world around the world myself since i was 17 and i am now 58
and i have participated in many other walks of life as well.

the art world is no different than the rest of the world
all the flaws ,near perfections and everything in between exist
just about equally everywhere
in my experience

and the term Professional regardless of where it is used in life
in no way represents to me a guarantee of redeeming quality,integrity
or sage like understanding.

i have observed that amateurs are more often than not, free to be their own authentic selves
with out having to cave in to the concessions of the neediness of remuneration
