Fayetteville: a city with a noon about it—
brick-pinned blocks and old storage fronts
favoring the neck bones of the ins and outs—
capable of snow, capable of colder.

A great-sounding fabric of internal rhymes, assonance, consonance, off-rhyme, alliteration, and all that good stuff, Maggie. Gives F. (and anyone F. represents) a distinct personality. Tom

this does quite a bit.
sounds like a small town
where a Wal-Mart was
introduced. the character
of the town changed,
and the people and visitors
miss the old charm.
a good, interesting write.

maggie an authentic read this evening. i enjoyed the small town voice behind the pen, sayings like 'capable of colder' has such a local feel to it. title is desolate and intriguing. sounds rich! lawrence
