  Belated introduction
« on: August 17, 2006, 05:20:19 PM » by Lavonne Westbrooks
I should have introduced myself several months ago, but I am notoriously shy about blowing my horn.

Short biography: Born in Savannah, Georgia, 1953. Father was a printer, spent most of my first year swaddled in a nest made in a drawer in the print shop. Mother was a London beauty taking a trip around the US before returning home to marry.  I grew up in a suburb of Atlanta, married and lived a hippie lifestyle until the children came, then settled down to become a graphic artist working for BellSouth.  Got downsized and the dream job dissappeared but I stayed with the company, retirement plan and all that jazz.  It was good for me because I began to put my artistic energy toward personal projects, i.e. I design wedding cakes and am an event planner.  Dedicated myself to raising my children.  My daughter graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brenau University and my son graduated from Georgia Tech, bachelor degree in applied mathematics, masters degree in computer science and is currently pursuing his doctorate. I like to think I had a hand in their success.

The time I spend here is so enjoyable, thank you for accepting me.
