  RIP Pekar
« on: July 13, 2010, 11:09:23 AM » by Tom Riordan
The one other famous Clevelander
ran, ran, ran even to Germany,
smuggled Charles Bukowski back
on the boat with him, one quarter
poured in each of his hollowed out
gold medals, but not you, you
didn't run far from the tree
that dumped you on your head,
got you started going nowhere
back in 1940. Your flight was
smuggling two smutty moth wings
into the local Veterans hospital
at 8am every morning for 40 years,
where they found your exoskeleton
under a cenotaph of comic books.
