  Hey Guys
« on: July 08, 2010, 11:36:32 PM » by Charlie Gilstrap
I'm wondering what the protocol here is regarding strong language.  I add quite a bit of vinegar to my diction when I'm pubbing or with mates after the races.  Don't want to be getting myself unwittingly banned. Wondered too what the going on is regarding a bit of leg-pullling, you know good natured horse-play with a bit of blue language amongst the members.  I expect you've got a mixed clientelle here but I see the f word in a few places on my scrolling around.  Fine line I suppose between humour and offensiveness.  Who exactly decides who's to be banned.  None of my buisness of course.  But being involved in other forums it's good to compare how things operate.

Thanks

Just no offensive remarks or personal attacks, Charlie. The general tone of courtesy is the responsibility of the team of editors collectively, but half an hour's reading of Replies on the forum will leave you with a good idea of this website's personality, and that is what guides pretty much everyone here. -Tom

Or to be more concrete, you can say fucking but not that the poet is a fucking moron or that the poem is a fucking piece of shit.  Using a personal insult gets a member warned the first time and banned the second.
