...hello to my new poetic family, I joined although i was given reviews that this wouldn't be the right site to express myself after researching, but I am the type that likes movies everyone else says not to see, get it? : ). I'm 28 years of age and reside in Florida...I have been writing since the age of 7, it started as a hobby until the age of 21 when something happened on the inside of me that powered my soul and heart to write for purpose. I am a free writer, in other words I write my poetry when summoned by my soul, i never write from the mind, I can however, and will post some of the of the poetry that can be characterized as a haiku, sonnet or any other technical title we have in these days in times. My focus on this site is not to just post a poem, but to poetically connect with others alike....anyone can write a poem, but not everyone is poet. Poetry to me has no certain guidelines or rules, it is an expression through words of what the writer feels, and no criticism or negativity can take that away from that writer. My favorite Poet is Edgar Allen Poe, reading poetry allows me to see the mind and soul of the writer, and most times I am able to relate or decipher hidden messages behind the words seen. Don't give up so quickly Tony.  Several of the present editors had poems rejected in their early days of membership.  Our site is a great place to learn.  It may turn out that we aren't your cup of tea but stick around for a while anyway.
