« on: May 21, 2010, 06:21:03 AM » by silent lotus
"Call for poems on the theme of ‘Childhood’ in aid of Children in Need

WordAid is inviting submissions for an anthology of poetry on the theme of 'Childhood' to be published in November 2010 in aid of Children in Need.

The anthology will be launched initially with a reading and event in Canterbury as part of the University of Kent's Tuesday Reading Series,
and thereafter as widely as possible.

We welcome submissions of published or unpublished poems on the theme of 'Childhood':

• maximum length 40 lines
• submissions by email only to: submissions@wordaid.org.uk
• please include your name, address and email at the bottom of each poem
·deadline 10th July 2010

Only one submission per poet will be chosen, but up to 3 submissions are welcome.

Contributors whose poems are selected will be informed by 31 August 2010. All poets who submit a poem will be invited to the launch events and will have the opportunity to buy multiple copies at a discount, but we will not provide complimentary copies as we wish to maximise our donation to Children in Need.

The selection and editing of the anthology will be by members of WordAid, a Kent-based collective of published poets dedicated to fundraising for charity. WordAid members are: Patricia Debney, Jo Field, Nicky Gould, Jen Kahawatte and Vicky Wilson."
