  An Older Poet Speaks
« on: March 07, 2010, 08:13:22 PM » by Jonathan Bracker
"I shall go to my grave
not having said all I wanted to say,
and not having written it;

sufficient to disclose
how outside my window in strong wind
a tree four stories high

again this March waves and dips
her boughs, branches, and leaf-fringes
like one tipsy giant fan dancer."

good poem on the beauty and simplicity of nature.  a couple of places are difficult, but I assume I'm the exception.

A poet dares be just so clear and no clearer.... He unzips the veil from beauty, but does not remove it.  A poet utterly clear is a trifle glaring.  ~E.B. White

Jonathan;
     while you're poem is good enough, i think you might have missed it.  your entire poem is right in the first two lines:

I shall go to my grave
not having said
all I wanted

How lovely to read this first after a long absence.
I am rather taken by that fan dancer.

I'd agree with John except you gotta get that image in.

John, I'd like to tell readers how they can purchase a copy of my book, but I do not know how to do it.  Can you tell me how?  also, how do I send a member a message without having it appear here?  Thanks you.

to answer your first question...do two things...post something in "notices...a short notice along with a link or links...also, edit your profile and add it to your "signature".
and please send me information as well, because i try and support every PC writer who is lucky enough to have something published.
and to answer your final question...if you find someone you want to send a personal message to, click on their name...then read down the page and you'll see "send this person a personal message".
easy-peasy.
now, send me information about your book.
congratulations!
