  Back At It Again
« on: February 08, 2010, 02:58:16 PM » by Rick Stansberger
This is not a game of
how far can you get
from where you need to be
before you fall off the board,

though you sure play it that way.

I'd say when are you going
to straighten up, but
you straighten up
just often enough.

You think you're not
going anywhere, but time
has its bony hands
on the rug,

and it's been pulling steadily
all along.

ooooooo this cuts to the quick, but written well.  going somewhere but not where the subject wishes to go.

a slice and a dice and a quick wit, Rick.

A poet dares be just so clear and no clearer.... He unzips the veil from beauty, but does not remove it.  A poet utterly clear is a trifle glaring.  ~E.B. White

I like this writing and the thought too, Rick. We grow up, however we grow up. Tom
