American Life in Poetry - Lyn Lifshin
« on: January 11, 2010, 12:08:06 PM » by Lynn Doiron
I subscribe to www.americanlifeinpoetry.org  and each week I find a poem selected by Ted Kooser and sent out to subscribers (it's free) in my email.  The poem received today [1-11-10] is by one of our members, Lyn Lifshin.  It was a treat for me to find her work there.  Congrats, Lyn!

Lynn, thanks for posting this.  I signed up and read the poem.  Sad but awesome writing.  Congratulations is well warranted.

And I thought Billy Collins was still laureate -- shows how contemporary I am.

Thanks again,

A poet dares be just so clear and no clearer.... He unzips the veil from beauty, but does not remove it.  A poet utterly clear is a trifle glaring.  ~E.B. White

I highly respect Ms. Lifshin and it's good to see this here.
