  Extremely Rough Drafts--Bad to submit?
« on: January 09, 2009, 11:41:29 PM » by Kris Rhodes
I haven't written prose fiction in years, and I just gave it a go again tonight.

Right now it's a very rough and spotty second draft.

But it's been so long since I've written, especially prose, that I am feeling no confidence whatsoever in my own "inner" writer's voice. I am already thinking "I need to get somebody else to look at this."

So my question is, is this generally acceptable at this forum? I mean will people get aggravated with a very rough draft that clearly even the author knows needs not just revision but major overhaul? Or is such a submission considered okay around here?

Thanks for any feedback,

-Kris

It's not aggravating, but you should remember that this is a forum for experienced writers. Be ready for honest feedback. If you are open to the criticism, you'll become a better writer.
