  Paradise Has No Colonies
« on: May 24, 2006, 08:43:00 PM » by Colin Ward
Rosie knows the night
is a forgiving
thing. She takes her daughter's
corner, posing just a little
further from the street

light. This is a school
night for Lynn; someone
will have the children
in bed by ten.

Colin, this took me by surprise. Nice little piece. Love the understatement and suggestiveness. Very quiet, and in no need of pronouncement.

Do post more.

first stanza could be even more compact...

wonderful sound in the second stanze, especially with the name Lynn in there...

I'm glad you brought this one back, Lavonne, as I was not around when it came about. A great simplicity, Colin.
